♪ Our house ♪ in middle of this tree ♪ our house

Who: Everyone
What: The first morning of an adventure begins.
Where: Home
When: Day 1
Other: Be courteous and warn for any of the usuals in your thread subject title if it gets to that point.

You wake up to a serene and idyllic morning.

Outside, a pleasant glow from the sun fills the room including the small crannies in which the beds are tucked. All windows have been latched close, but it's easy to see a gentle breeze ruffling the leaves of branches which loom overhead. Faintly, bird song can be heard from outside. In this place, it'd be a simple matter to close your eyes again and drift back to sleep.

There's simply one problem: this is not where you last went to sleep.

Waking up properly will display not only how the picturesque and cozy little room stands out in stark contrast to where you should be, but that you are sharing this space with someone else. Depending on things, they might be very mundane or very... unusual. Either way, they seem just as bewildered as you are. The good news is that at least all the things you immediately had on you at the time are right nearby the foot of your bed along with what seems like a small gift- a small pouch of some sort of coin. (500 Lucre, although that might not be immediately realized anytime soon.)

Exploring the rest of the house shows it to be otherwise quite empty, except for some writing utensils and paper in what appears to be the study along with basic kitchen tools in, well, the kitchen. There's no food, however, and no decoration. Venturing outside onto the grounds reveals an expansive but not particularly well tended estate including another building that is fairly run down. Attempting to venture down the path from the front door out into the world reveals... well. Nothing. It's a fruitless endeavor.

However, not for long.

Hajime Iwaizumi will be the one to find what appear to be a few discarded children's toy blocks. The Colorblocks immediately seem off in some way, strange even as they should seem inconspicuous. Something about them will compel him to pick them up. The nature of this apparent toy will not be obvious until he ventures near the edge of Home himself. A sound, almost like distant bellchimes, will start to emit from the Colorblocks.

When exposed to the air, suddenly they emit a glow and shoot off into the sky with all the brilliance of a falling star. Its trail is both noticeable and easy to follow, curving an arc through the sky until it falls some distance away... and its impact bursts an aurora of colors through the distant and dimmer sky, encircling the site. As the whirlwind of color fades, what appears to be a town can be just made out...

That is the town of Domina.

Some OOC notes:
➸ Prior to the activation of the Colorblocks, the only books which will be filled out in the Study will be "Artifacts" and "Visitors".
➸ After Domina has been unlocked and some characters have explored the town, "People" and "Locations" will be filled out in the Study as well.
➸ To see who your character is initially rooming with, check the Home page. These rooming assignments are not permanent or mandatory by any means, and characters can change them whenever. Officially letting me know will be present and explained in the next mod post coming in a week's time, but for now we can play it relaxed and loose. Just don't burn down the tree in the meantime.

Room: How does one walk again?

[personal profile] orbislife 2016-07-31 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
The first thing Zenyatta notices is not the scenery or the sounds but the discord that seizes his spirit. He cannot feel the Omnic energy flowing through him as normal. The Iris feels far away, though he knows It cannot disappear. He forces the building panic to another part of his mind. He will reflect upon the matter later once he has a better grasp of the situation.

The Orbs of Destruction that do not roll off his body as he sits up remain on the bed. All nine are there. That is a small comfort.

"Greetings," Zenyatta says to the other in the room and gives a small wave of his hand. His voice is deep with a robotic tinge. "Do you know where this is?"

Because he sure does not.

These Floaters do not know

The Outsider's knees go out from under him instantly sending him back to sitting on the edge of the bed, but worse than that is the greeting he hears. His head snaps to the sound, and he blinks. He's seen the built servants-the robots. Metals crafted into a mockery of humanity down many of the paths he can't access now. This particular robot, if The Outsider was identifying him correctly, was something different. Something he hadn't glimpsed in future paths.

How interesting.

"Hello." While he'd much rather observe than actively participate in upheaval, it seemed he didn't have a choice in this. He would have to be canny. "No. I've never seen it before." Not in life, not through The Void. He wonders what he should ask in turn....

"Are you mechanical?" There. Less direct than inquiring if he was a robot. His voice is a great contrast, to the strange underlay of the other person's. It floats away like sea fog.

Zenyatta moves to have his legs dangle off the edge of the mattress. The ease of doing so surprises him, and he looks down for a moment. If he could, his face would be full of confusion. Are his sensors malfunctioning? He returns his attention to the young man. "I am, but please be at ease. I mean no harm." Then with a bit of a smile in his voice, he asks, "Are you biological?"

The Outsider holds his hand in front of himself flexing his fingers and inspecting it a moment.

"I began that way before I became part of the Void." He doesn't say he believes this place has regressed him to something closer to human. "You came from a different world as well?"

He hums in understanding. He knows or knows of a few who could claim a similar state of being. But his question was mostly as a joke. Zenyatta does not know of anyone who would question if he is mechanical upon seeing how he is made of metal.

"We are all from different worlds, but in this case, that may have another meaning entirely." He folds his hands into his lap. "What makes you certain that this place is not somewhere you have yet to visit on your world?"

"I have seen the whole of my world from the Void. However, both are barred to me. Even what I was granted-" His abilities that could move beyond the Void and be acquired by his Marked Chosen were out of his grasp and dormant.

"I am also cut off from what I am used to. I cannot channel Omnic energy or feel connected to the Iris, though I know it is there."

In a similar sense, Zenyatta understands the feeling. The Iris cannot just disappear, and Zenyatta does not see why it would not be present in another world. The universe is a very large place, after all.

"My name is Tekhartha Zenyatta."
