[ Maybe you didn't notice it before but there's a tiny... creature that hasn't moved for the past half hour or so. He's been standing by the door with a ream of papers and a pencil in hand. It's clear he's busy writing with how he looks up every now and then and scribbles something down. If you would chance to look over his shoulder, you'll find whatever he's writing to be intelligible but it looks to be a tally of some sort.
If you do choose to linger, or even if you don't, he may finally notice you. When he finally looks up, one ear perks up completely as he tilts his head to the side. ]
You there, ah... [ A pause, as if trying to find the right word to address you with. ] bookah. [ Sadly, that's what he chooses to go with. ]
How many of us are there apart from you and I? We can't be the only ones here.

[ The cactus may be slightly upset. Maybe it's because of the fact that there's someone in the study who's clearly got some complaints.
If you would follow the grumbling ('What sort of study is this?' 'Who puts empty books on shelves?!' 'This is an insult!'), you'll find this little guy pacing around. He leafs through books, grumbling at their emptiness and seemingly in search of something with more substance. Finally there's a huff as he slams the book he's holding shut before leaping up in an attempt to return it to the shelf he got it from.
Which is probably three shelves higher than what he can reach.
