[Event] Pumpkiller

Who: A very big and magical Jack-O-Lantern and you
What: A giant pumpkin is trying to take over Domina... or something like that.
Where: West Domina, past the residential area
When: Day 33

At least, that's what the usual mail pelican is frantically squawking about on the front steps of home with her feathers going everywhere as she flaps her wings.

And.... there are some very disconcerting dark clouds gathering around Domina that haven't yet started intruding on the sky around Home. Perhaps this merits some checking out.

To those that venture forth, they'll notice that Domina is eerily quiet as they step into it from the road. Both Domina's tavern and inn seem empty, which is a strange thing in itself. Anyone who's visited the town regularly will have noticed that those two places, for good reason, are often the most lively places in town.

Just where has everyone gone....?

"Kinda. Pony, stealing Twilight's crown..."

Which hey, wasn't the best way to introduce herself but she shrugged. "I'm Sunset Shimmer. Has Twilight talked about me much in your world?"

Rainbow's slow blink ought to say everything.

"Uhhhhhh, noooooo." Couple this with a slight retreat, because this just got super-weird.

"Oh... I guess Twilight hasn't spoken about me much then," said Sunset with a sigh.

Great, that sucked. Twilight you're letting your best friend down!

"So uh, I guess she hasn't said anything about the human world huh..."

"What, you mean here?" This was the only one she knew of, so what else could it be? Rainbow was getting more and more confused by the second.

"Uh no, I mean the world behind the mirror portal... wait, do you even know about the mirror portal and the other world?"

Darnit Timelines! Sunset groaned, facepalming a little.

"Nnnnnope." And now Rainbow wasn't even sure she wanted to know. This was getting freakier and freakier by the moment.

"Aw man... So much for having someone I could relate to from Equestria," grumbled Sunset, folding her arms.

"Sorry to bother you Rainbow Dash, I just wanted to know if you knew about the portal and everything."

"Hey, sorry I don't know about this stuff. That's all kinda the Princesses' deal. And -- heh, well, guess that covers Twilight too." She ran a hoof through her mane awkwardly, still not quite used to her friend's new status. "But that doesn't mean we can't be friends."

"Yeah, well, if you're pre-dating the mirror then it probably makes sense you don't know about it," said Sunset with a shake of a head.

"I'd like that though."

That was settled, but one major point of order remained unaddressed. "Sooo, you know me, I guess. But I don't know you."

"Yeah, well lets start at the beginning. I'm Sunset Shimmer, I'm a former student of Princess Celestia's... before I traveled through a magic portal and ended up in another world." A beat. "Besides this one. I spent the last couple of years there as, well, a human."

"I also grew up in Canterlot, Celestia's favorite cake is chocolate with vanilla swirls, and oh, I was a unicorn."

Right, right -- Rainbow was a little more interested in the first part than the second. "Wow, so all this, the humans and the different world and stuff, that's all old stuff to you."

"Yeah, it's never been this weird before but this is kind of old hat to me," said Sunset, relaxing a little more. "I went from Equestria to the Human World and for a while magic wasn't a thing there. That in itself is a bit of a long story."

"Whoa. So you've been where all these guys are from."

It hadn't really occurred to Rainbow that the rest of the population here could be from different worlds themselves. Look how diverse and wild their own was -- not just Equestria, but everyplace ELSE, too.

"Maybe not the same, but there might be someone who is from mine. Starswirls theories said there's multiple worlds out there, but I'd have to ask the princess on that." said Sunset.

"Wait, multiple worlds?"

She shot a glance around at everypony present. Yeah... okay, maybe she guessed she could see that.

"So how come we all ended up here then? I sure didn't go through any portal or anything."

"That I don't know. I've never encountered something like this before..." Sunset shrugged.

"It's like some kind of giant nexus or something. I learned about these from human science fiction novels."

"Oh yeah, it's totally like something straight out of the comics. Wait till you see Zen." Rainbow put a hoof to the side of her mouth as if confiding a great secret. "He's a robot."

"A robot? Really? That is pretty cool actually!" Oh man that was awesome. Sunset grinned.

"You totally understand. Not that he isn't pretty cool on his own." Rainbow was, after a few pointed comments, a little sensitive at any implication that Zen was only cool because he was made of metal. "Keep an eye out for him!"

"I'll have to find him then, and ask a few questions. I love science, so I want to learn a lot about him." admitted Sunset with a grin.

Rainbow nodded vigorously. "Definitely. I guess you know all about humans and don't need to ask THEM stuff..."

"Well, humans yes. Robot people, not so much. But I'm always looking to learn about stuff. You would not believe how many things I had to learn about when I went to the human world," said Sunset with a little grin.

"Yeah. I'm getting the idea. This place seems like it's made for 'em. Or at least people who look like 'em." Rainbow huffed at her bangs indignantly. Why were humans getting the special treatment? (Sunset included, because she sure looked like one right now.)

"I'm sure given time, more people from other worlds that aren't even human will show up," said Sunset with a shake of her head. "Things have a habit of sorting themselves out like that."
