[Event] Pumpkiller
Who: A very big and magical Jack-O-Lantern and you
What: A giant pumpkin is trying to take over Domina... or something like that.
Where: West Domina, past the residential area
When: Day 33
Other: Likely some violence. Check the post for more info and ask any questions here.

At least, that's what the usual mail pelican is frantically squawking about on the front steps of home with her feathers going everywhere as she flaps her wings.
And.... there are some very disconcerting dark clouds gathering around Domina that haven't yet started intruding on the sky around Home. Perhaps this merits some checking out.
To those that venture forth, they'll notice that Domina is eerily quiet as they step into it from the road. Both Domina's tavern and inn seem empty, which is a strange thing in itself. Anyone who's visited the town regularly will have noticed that those two places, for good reason, are often the most lively places in town.
Just where has everyone gone....?

Not to mention, the fact that it had it in the first place? The fact that it threw it at his head, gathered it up from home, knew he wanted it-- they're all questions that need answers and it makes Dean uncomfortable, even as he lets Sam drape the amulet around his neck again. It's all a little much to take in at once (even if it's not that much, comparatively) and he stares down at the amulet for a good few seconds, pleased by its presence but not in the slightest bit mollified.
"Wanna know how the fuck it even got it in the first place--" Of course Dean's going to be suspicious about this, of course he is, and he stares off at nothing in particular for a moment before finally snapping back to attention and nodding at the.. uh, broom that Sam received for his troubles.
"You gonna reenact Fantasia? Cause I think they forgot the hat."

It's something he's wondering about too, how that creature or whatever had ended up with it. "Yeah. Maybe other people have seen those creatures here and could tell us more about them. I've been meaning to visit the church here in Domina. It might help to know some of the religion or legends around here. Could help us figure out how we wound up here, too," he says thoughtfully before turning his focus back on the broom.
He runs his fingers over the strange markings, sort of like runes, etched into the newer wood of the handle. He's pretty sure it's not going to come to life and start moving around on its own like a Fantasia broom... Though his child self would have probably been ecstatic to see that. It still feels like it could be magic though, in the same way those pumpkins had. Enchanted pumpkins, a broom... Seemed Halloween and possibly witch related, at least in the terms of the world Sam knew.
"I don't know about that, but it might not be too far off?" He gives a shrug and starts messing with the broom then, out of curiosity, turning his back to Dean so he's pointing the thing at a nearby broken pumpkin and not at his brother.
He tries a few gestures, concentrating but feeling a little stupid at the same time. Like he's pretending to conduct an orchestra with the damn thing or something. Which is sort of Fantasia after all, he thinks.
Suddenly a straight line of flames seems to burst from the tip of the handle, shooting at the pumpkin and setting the remains on fire. Sam almost drops the broom in surprise, but turns a wide-eyed look at Dean. Because what the fuck. He'd been expecting it to a certain extent but still the revelation that it really was magic was... off-putting? Disturbing? Certainly not comforting, at any rate.

"Put that on the to-do list. Might actually find something worth reading."
Dean's distracted enough by the thought of what could be found inside a church that he isn't wholly paying attention to what Sammy's doing with the broomstick. Maybe if he had been, he would'a popped him one upside the head just to get him to quit it, because playing around with anything inscribed with runes is a bad idea and Dean's fairly sure that Sam should know that. Even in a different world with different rules, playing with magical artifacts is just a big no-no unless you know what your'e getting in to.
And they obviously don't.
Which is probably why Sam becomes the next best pyro. Good thing it's a pumpkin and not some poor forlorn person walking by, otherwise this would be all kinds of a much bigger mess.
"The fuck, Sammy-!" Dean's alert within seconds, his attention twisted between the fire and Sam and the broom and all back again. It doesn't take him but half a second to try and swipe the broom handle from Sam's hands because can they put it down now please, this is dangerous shit, what is going on.
"Didn't anyone ever tell you not to play with your broomstick?"
He's very funny, everyone laugh.

Sam doesn't laugh. Instead he responds to Dean's comedic relief not-question with some dry lines of his own. "Oh, good. You've found a new euphemism. The old ones were getting kind of stale." He points at the broom, moving past Dean's hilarity and getting back to the matter at hand. "We're taking that with us. I'd rather have it in our hands than in any of the teenagers'." Or really anyone else, for that matter.
"You know, it could also be a clue to how we got here and how to get back. And let's face it, Dean, at this point we could use any lead we can get." Whether it was dangerous or not.
However, it's still probably a better idea to head to the church as their next step. Though they could always take the broom there. He knows there's supposed to be a Reverend that's generally friendly and willing to answer questions and help. He's just not sure how much he might know about the arrival of all these different people into a previous empty giant tree, but it would make sense for him to maybe know something about the broom and its runes, and its ability.
