[Event] Pumpkiller

Who: A very big and magical Jack-O-Lantern and you
What: A giant pumpkin is trying to take over Domina... or something like that.
Where: West Domina, past the residential area
When: Day 33
Other: Likely some violence. Check the post for more info and ask any questions here.

At least, that's what the usual mail pelican is frantically squawking about on the front steps of home with her feathers going everywhere as she flaps her wings.

And.... there are some very disconcerting dark clouds gathering around Domina that haven't yet started intruding on the sky around Home. Perhaps this merits some checking out.

To those that venture forth, they'll notice that Domina is eerily quiet as they step into it from the road. Both Domina's tavern and inn seem empty, which is a strange thing in itself. Anyone who's visited the town regularly will have noticed that those two places, for good reason, are often the most lively places in town.

Just where has everyone gone....?

[Instead of being reassuring, that smile in the midst of everything else just adds to the surreality, and Tsukishima takes a quiet breath.]

I’m failing to see what’s enjoy able about pumpkin mauling, actually. When did you get a sword?

There isn't much enjoyable about it. I was talking about you spectating. I mean, if you're not here for the entertainment, what else are you here for?

[Kuroo steps over more smashed pumpkins to move over to Tsukki, wiping gourd muck off it on the grass once he's away from the fruit carnage. Then he sheathes it at his side before closing the rest of the distance.]

It was a few days after the house meeting.

If someone gets beamed in the head with a gourd, I imagine someone not caught up in fighting should drag them away from dying.

[Translation: he got worried. He doesn’t phrase it that way, explicitly, and he does his best to keep any actual concern out of his voice…. But that’s how it is.]
nekohohoho: (I admit I'm a bit of a victim)

Getting hit by one of those giant vines is probably more likely, but I guess I take your point. [Kuroo says this lightly as he looks back at the battlefield, but there's a definite air of quiet unease as he watches those massive vines thrash. Some of them are as thick as trees. He doubts someone would survive taking a direct hit from one.

He's been keeping to the outer fringes of the battle, where they can't reach, for that exact reason. He knows how far his burgeoning capabilities as a fighter stretch, and he can just about handle small, irritable pumpkins with teeth that honestly aren't that sharp and vines that can only inconvenience and leave bruises.]

[Instead of watching the pumpkin chaos, Tsukishima watches Kuroo’s face, looking for… he’s not really sure what. But for once, the silence makes him uneasy, and he breaks it.]

No one in the town seems disturbed about it, at any rate.

In terms of actual threat, it doesn't seem to be much of one if people stay clear of it, anyway. Which I guess is why no one's too worked up; you're only in danger if you come into this area. [Which Kuroo has blatantly done.]

It's kind of convenient, though. I know I'm not the only one who's been training in combat for the first time, and these smaller pumpkins are more annoying than dangerous. It's a good way to practice on actual threats without really risking much.
itsjustanaccount: (eyecons) (Why do I have this feeling like this)

[personal profile] itsjustanaccount 2016-11-29 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Huh. That’s definitely an observation, and Tsukishima sweeps his gaze over the battleground again to take it all in. Sure enough, Kuroo does have a point…]

So- what? Do you think there’s some special reason behind this happening?
nekohohoho: (We get so disconnected)

[personal profile] nekohohoho 2016-12-09 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It'd be really weird if there was, and I don't know what the purpose would be. [Kuroo shakes his head.] I just meant literally convenient, not quote-unquote suspiciously convenient. That's why I'm making use of the opportunity.
itsjustanaccount: (eyecons) (Like I didn't gracefully walk into)

I guess…

[Leeriness is still apparently in his gaze before he shakes his head and steps back.]

Well, have fun with it all you want, then. I’m doing the sensible thing and keeping out of it.
nekohohoho: (But I've found my sweet escape)

[personal profile] nekohohoho 2016-12-14 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Good. Someone should have some common sense~. [And Kuroo leans in to ruffle Tsukki's hair, grinning.] See you later, whenever all this gets sorted out again.

[And then he's drawing that sword again, heading back toward the nearest small pumpkins.]
