You wake up to a serene and idyllic morning.

Outside, a pleasant glow from the sun fills the room including the small crannies in which the beds are tucked. All windows have been latched close, but it's easy to see a gentle breeze ruffling the leaves of branches which loom overhead. Faintly, bird song can be heard from outside. In this place, it'd be a simple matter to close your eyes again and drift back to sleep.

There's simply one problem: this is not where you last went to sleep.

Waking up properly will display not only how the picturesque and cozy little room stands out in stark contrast to where you should be, but that you are sharing this space with someone else. Depending on things, they might be very mundane or very... unusual. Either way, they seem just as bewildered as you are. The good news is that at least all the things you immediately had on you at the time are right nearby the foot of your bed along with what seems like a small gift- a small pouch of some sort of coin. (500 Lucre, although that might not be immediately realized anytime soon.)

Exploring the rest of the house shows it to be otherwise quite empty, except for some writing utensils and paper in what appears to be the study along with basic kitchen tools in, well, the kitchen. There's no food, however, and no decoration. Venturing outside onto the grounds reveals an expansive but not particularly well tended estate including another building that is fairly run down. Attempting to venture down the path from the front door out into the world reveals... well. Nothing. It's a fruitless endeavor.

However, not for long.

Hajime Iwaizumi will be the one to find what appear to be a few discarded children's toy blocks. The Colorblocks immediately seem off in some way, strange even as they should seem inconspicuous. Something about them will compel him to pick them up. The nature of this apparent toy will not be obvious until he ventures near the edge of Home himself. A sound, almost like distant bellchimes, will start to emit from the Colorblocks.

When exposed to the air, suddenly they emit a glow and shoot off into the sky with all the brilliance of a falling star. Its trail is both noticeable and easy to follow, curving an arc through the sky until it falls some distance away... and its impact bursts an aurora of colors through the distant and dimmer sky, encircling the site. As the whirlwind of color fades, what appears to be a town can be just made out...

That is the town of Domina.


Some OOC notes:
➸ Prior to the activation of the Colorblocks, the only books which will be filled out in the Study will be "Artifacts" and "Visitors".
➸ After Domina has been unlocked and some characters have explored the town, "People" and "Locations" will be filled out in the Study as well.
➸ To see who your character is initially rooming with, check the Home page. These rooming assignments are not permanent or mandatory by any means, and characters can change them whenever. Officially letting me know will be present and explained in the next mod post coming in a week's time, but for now we can play it relaxed and loose. Just don't burn down the tree in the meantime.

[ With the quick succession of questions, Zenyatta had thought that being specific was what she wished for. He was wrong. Perhaps the child-like energy is more impatience than wanting perfect understanding. ]

I was returning to a place called Gibraltar. Does that name sound familiar?

[ He does not expect it to. ]

Oh, Griffaltar? I've never been! Kinda always wanted to, I've always wondered how griffins live in their home lands.

It is actually called Gibraltar. I have not heard of Griffaltar.

[ He beginning to imagine her world to be filled with every mythical creature of his. ]

...You're sure you didn't just mishear it?

[No offense, pal, but you don't even have ears.]

You WERE going to see the griffins, right?

I am positive. There are no griffins in my world besides what appears in art and stories.

Wait, really? You've never met a griffin before? You're really missing out, they're pretty cool.

[Poor guy.] Guess you've never been to Equestria either, huh?

I have not. While I have seen beings with appearances similar to yours, I believe it would be inconsiderate to draw more comparisons from them.

[ He is talking about the horses owned by the Nepalese villagers. They are wonderful animals who are hardworking and compassionate, but they do not talk like Rainbow Dash. ]

Wow. So... where are you from? Must be, like, the far side of the world. Someplace even the Princesses have never been.

This would make such a cool Daring Do book! [She rears back to knock her hooves together in delight at the thought.] Maybe even better!

I do not know of any princesses who have visited the Shambali Monastery in Nepal, so you may be right.

[ As the answer of being a wanderer did not satisfy her, Zenyatta supposes where he came from before he started to wander will suffice. ]

However, it has been long since I was last there. Some may have visited in my absence.

Naw. Never heard of it. And if the Princesses had gone there recently I'm sure we'd've heard about it. [She shakes her head, reluctantly forced to admit that the cool robot dude is from somewhere so far away she can't even imagine it.] Guess the world really is a lot bigger than we ever knew.

The universe is a large and mysterious place. We may never know all of its secrets. But we can strive to understand and experience what is around us.

...Hey, do you know zebras, maybe? You kinda sound like a zebra that doesn't rhyme.

[THERE'S a lot for Zenyatta to consider in a sentence.]

[ Zenyatta takes a moment to contemplate this, run it through various algorithms, and to discover the root of the real question. ]

I have not met a zebra before, but who know who will walk through that door.

[ He motions to the entrance of Home, but his voice has a curious playfulness to it. ]

[If that isn't a setup, Rainbow Dash hasn't heard one. She turns expectantly to the door... then, after a moment in which the joke doesn't pay off, raises an eyebrow, then lowers her head a little, ears drooping.]

If Pinkie Pie didn't come in on that note, I must be really far from home.

[orbislife]

[ And now he admits to feeling bad for his little rhyme joke. ]

However, you are not alone.

[elementofloyalty]

[Isn't his fault.]

Yeah, but... you know, it's always better with your friends around.

[She assumes the robot guy has friends. Everypony has friends, why shouldn't he?]

I understand. I miss my friends, but they have important work to do. I hesitate to wish them here with me.

[ Then he hums. He does that a lot as he thinks. ]

However, I would like to be your friend, Rainbow Dash.

[elementofloyalty]

Oh yeah! [And right back up she perks, even rising up a few inches thanks to her wings.] No problem there, Zen. You're plenty cool.

[It's built in to being a robot.]

Thank you. "Cool" is not something people call me.

[ "Chill" maybe, but he is not considered "cool." ]

You seem very cool as well.

Wait, what? But you're an awesome robot guy! How can anypony not think you're cool!?

[Rainbow is not only shocked, she's outraged, ears flattened back and hackles raised. What kind of garbage is this she's hearing?! What stupid place does Zen come from where he's not cool?!]

[ His voice becomes solemn, which he manages to do despite the robotic tones of his voice. ]

There are many who wish ill on me and my kind back home.

That's -- wow, why? [She can guess at some reasons but she's pretty sure it's just some big misunderstanding, the way everypony used to worry about Zecora before they learned about her. Sometimes different things are scary just because they're different.]

The reasons are many. Some believe that Omnics only exist to serve them, that we are not people with our own lives and souls. There are some who are scarred from the Omnic Crisis when man and machine--against their will--went to war. History is in danger of repeating.

[ Because of the assassination of Mondatta, who preached peace and harmony among Omnic and human.

While he is saying the sad truth of his world, Zenyatta still holds onto hope that things will change. ]

But there are also those who greet us as equals and wish to work together toward a brighter future.

Oh, I get it. They think the eeeeeevil robots -- [Cue Rainbow hunching over and rubbing her hooves together.] -- are out to all get them, no matter what!

[Snorting at the idea, she dismisses it with a wave of one foreleg.] You just hang on, Zen. Even if it's rough, you're totally cool. People will figure that out.

I can only hope that by interacting with others on a personal level, more will come to accept Omnics.
