You wake up to a serene and idyllic morning.

Outside, a pleasant glow from the sun fills the room including the small crannies in which the beds are tucked. All windows have been latched close, but it's easy to see a gentle breeze ruffling the leaves of branches which loom overhead. Faintly, bird song can be heard from outside. In this place, it'd be a simple matter to close your eyes again and drift back to sleep.

There's simply one problem: this is not where you last went to sleep.

Waking up properly will display not only how the picturesque and cozy little room stands out in stark contrast to where you should be, but that you are sharing this space with someone else. Depending on things, they might be very mundane or very... unusual. Either way, they seem just as bewildered as you are. The good news is that at least all the things you immediately had on you at the time are right nearby the foot of your bed along with what seems like a small gift- a small pouch of some sort of coin. (500 Lucre, although that might not be immediately realized anytime soon.)

Exploring the rest of the house shows it to be otherwise quite empty, except for some writing utensils and paper in what appears to be the study along with basic kitchen tools in, well, the kitchen. There's no food, however, and no decoration. Venturing outside onto the grounds reveals an expansive but not particularly well tended estate including another building that is fairly run down. Attempting to venture down the path from the front door out into the world reveals... well. Nothing. It's a fruitless endeavor.

However, not for long.

Hajime Iwaizumi will be the one to find what appear to be a few discarded children's toy blocks. The Colorblocks immediately seem off in some way, strange even as they should seem inconspicuous. Something about them will compel him to pick them up. The nature of this apparent toy will not be obvious until he ventures near the edge of Home himself. A sound, almost like distant bellchimes, will start to emit from the Colorblocks.

When exposed to the air, suddenly they emit a glow and shoot off into the sky with all the brilliance of a falling star. Its trail is both noticeable and easy to follow, curving an arc through the sky until it falls some distance away... and its impact bursts an aurora of colors through the distant and dimmer sky, encircling the site. As the whirlwind of color fades, what appears to be a town can be just made out...

That is the town of Domina.


Some OOC notes:
➸ Prior to the activation of the Colorblocks, the only books which will be filled out in the Study will be "Artifacts" and "Visitors".
➸ After Domina has been unlocked and some characters have explored the town, "People" and "Locations" will be filled out in the Study as well.
➸ To see who your character is initially rooming with, check the Home page. These rooming assignments are not permanent or mandatory by any means, and characters can change them whenever. Officially letting me know will be present and explained in the next mod post coming in a week's time, but for now we can play it relaxed and loose. Just don't burn down the tree in the meantime.

"Perhaps in time, yes. There are tales of shining fish in Outlands at least," said Thrall with a smile.

"Perhaps our worlds are more similar in many regards?"

Zenyatta laughs, not at Thrall, but at the realization that Zenyatta once had the same reaction to one of Mondatta's more figurative sayings. He had understood he intention of the saying, but he tried to pick apart the words too much and ended up befuddling the meaning. Although... he also half suspected Mondatta was trying to make fun of him at the time.

"Perhaps so." Zenyatta looks up to the tree they sit by. "Have you ever seen a tree of this size? I do not think one large enough to house us all exists in my world. Not a natural one."

"I have seen something similar, some time ago." said Thrall, looking up to Home for a long moment.

"While not a home, there lays a tree called Nordrassil, grown by Illidan Stormrage thousands of years ago. Over it rests a magic pool of water that was drawn from the Well of Eternity. Nordrassil, as well as its sister world tree Teldrassil, are both Night Elf trees in a sense. Teldrassil would be the closest thing to this tree, as it is big enough to host an entire city in the branches, so overgrown the canopy is that whole temples to Elune are built."

"A tree large enough to hold a city... That is amazing." Zenyatta tries to imagine the Nepalese village at the base of the Shambali temple being supported by a tree instead of a mountain. It stretches his imagination, and that is only a village, not a city. Still, he would love to watch the sunrise and see the light filter through the leaves. The view must be wonderful.

He mulls over the names Thrall gives for the trees. "Is there a tree called 'Yggdrasil?'" The name is similar to the others.

"Unfortunately not," said Thrall, shaking his head. "But there were many other world trees before some were destroyed, or left alone."

"There are old stories about a tree named 'Yggdrasil.' I thought perhaps there was another similarity between our worlds." Zenyatta does not sound disappointed. It was just curiosity. "But they do sound alike."

"It very well may be that Night Elf Culture is inspired by the same stories about your own tree," said Thrall thoughtfully.

"It would be interesting to read up on."

Zenyatta nods slightly and adds, "It would be difficult to do so here. Most of the books in the library are full of blank pages. It is very curious."

"Mm. The books may be enchanted to open up knowledge after completing tasks then," said Thrall. "There are magically ensorelled books in my world, which reveal their contents after some event is completed. And the Discs of Norgannon are but one of these kinds of artifacts."

"How interesting. It may be worth checking as time goes by."

It is something that Zenyatta would volunteer to do if such tasks do occur. He does not have the same needs as others do, so he has more time for things such as this. And checking all the books does take a lot of time.

"It would be."

Chuckling, Thrall added, "And it gives us more reason to explore this world in its entirety."

"I will have to let others start that journey. I have practice I must do beforehand." Zenyatta wiggles a foot to imply that he needs to work more on walking instead of floating. He does not want to be a liability should there be danger.

"If you require assistance, I will be available," said Thrall with a smile. "After all, we are in this together."

Zenyatta laughs. "Indeed. If my practice goes ill, perhaps you can help me find a wheelchair to move around in."

He is 100% joking. He is certain that he will be able to move comfortably with a few more days' practice.

Thrall chuckled at the statement, and nodded with a smile. "Then, I wish you the best in your practice."

"Thank you, my friend." Zenyatta slowly and carefully works on standing back up. "Perhaps I should start my practicing and leave you to commune with the tree further."

"Good tidings then, may the wind be at your back," said Thrall, nodding to Zenyatta as he settled back into a meditative pose.
