♪ Our house ♪ in middle of this tree ♪ our house
Who: Everyone
What: The first morning of an adventure begins.
Where: Home
When: Day 1
Other: Be courteous and warn for any of the usuals in your thread subject title if it gets to that point.

You wake up to a serene and idyllic morning.
Outside, a pleasant glow from the sun fills the room including the small crannies in which the beds are tucked. All windows have been latched close, but it's easy to see a gentle breeze ruffling the leaves of branches which loom overhead. Faintly, bird song can be heard from outside. In this place, it'd be a simple matter to close your eyes again and drift back to sleep.
There's simply one problem: this is not where you last went to sleep.
Waking up properly will display not only how the picturesque and cozy little room stands out in stark contrast to where you should be, but that you are sharing this space with someone else. Depending on things, they might be very mundane or very... unusual. Either way, they seem just as bewildered as you are. The good news is that at least all the things you immediately had on you at the time are right nearby the foot of your bed along with what seems like a small gift- a small pouch of some sort of coin. (500 Lucre, although that might not be immediately realized anytime soon.)
Exploring the rest of the house shows it to be otherwise quite empty, except for some writing utensils and paper in what appears to be the study along with basic kitchen tools in, well, the kitchen. There's no food, however, and no decoration. Venturing outside onto the grounds reveals an expansive but not particularly well tended estate including another building that is fairly run down. Attempting to venture down the path from the front door out into the world reveals... well. Nothing. It's a fruitless endeavor.
However, not for long.
Hajime Iwaizumi will be the one to find what appear to be a few discarded children's toy blocks. The Colorblocks immediately seem off in some way, strange even as they should seem inconspicuous. Something about them will compel him to pick them up. The nature of this apparent toy will not be obvious until he ventures near the edge of Home himself. A sound, almost like distant bellchimes, will start to emit from the Colorblocks.
When exposed to the air, suddenly they emit a glow and shoot off into the sky with all the brilliance of a falling star. Its trail is both noticeable and easy to follow, curving an arc through the sky until it falls some distance away... and its impact bursts an aurora of colors through the distant and dimmer sky, encircling the site. As the whirlwind of color fades, what appears to be a town can be just made out...
That is the town of Domina.
Some OOC notes:
➸ Prior to the activation of the Colorblocks, the only books which will be filled out in the Study will be "Artifacts" and "Visitors".
➸ After Domina has been unlocked and some characters have explored the town, "People" and "Locations" will be filled out in the Study as well.
➸ To see who your character is initially rooming with, check the Home page. These rooming assignments are not permanent or mandatory by any means, and characters can change them whenever. Officially letting me know will be present and explained in the next mod post coming in a week's time, but for now we can play it relaxed and loose. Just don't burn down the tree in the meantime.

Uhm, it was 2016 back in my world.
[ Her mind reeled back to the "blown up" bit. ]
S-so, you died?
no subject
[He cocks his head] Well, that was the plan, but it seems like I got rescued, somehow.
no subject
[ She was genuinely impressed. Time travel was a headache in itself, so, the fact he was so nonchalant was amazing. ]
You were planning to die?
[ Surprisingly, that was what shocked her most. ]
no subject
He shakes his head] That was never the plan, but there wasn't any choice. My only other option was to let my partner die, and I wasn't gonna let that happen.
no subject
Wow, your world must be pretty advanced.
[ And he just got more awesome points from admitting that. She smiled. ]
That's noble of you, Mister Snart. Hopefully, when we get back home, you'll be alive and recovering in your world!
no subject
[He winces at being called noble] Now, let's not go that far. I'm a villain, so don't get the wrong idea. I just had a moment of weakness, and nearly got myself killed. [He glances around] Seems to me that I've been given a second chance. See if I make that mistake again.
no subject
[ That type of label seemed silly to address one's self, in her head. No one was truly ever the bad guy. It was all relative, wasn't it? ]
Well, I don't really see it. [ Both figuratively and literally. ] If you saved someone, that's still saving someone, isn't it?
no subject
no subject
I mean, it's not as though you're a mob boss that harasses and threatens a town. Even though stealing isn't good, I don't think it classifies you as a villain.
[ As she wandered around the room, still trying to get her bearings, she noticed a bag on the nightstand. On closer inspection, it was filled with coins with marks she was unfamiliar with. She squinted-glared at Len's stand next to his bed. ]
Hm, do you have these too?
no subject
[He shrugs. After running the Santini family out of town, taking over their territory, and forming a crew out of superpowered criminals, he probably could claim that title as well.
When he notices her find the coins, he looks at his own nightstand and sorts through the coins he finds there, stirring them with a finger]
Never seen coins like these. You?
no subject
[ As she holds the coin close to her eye, nothing popped out to her as familiar. ]
No, never. But, there's a lot in here. Maybe we should look around this place?
no subject
[He slips the pouch into his pocket and taps the handle of his gun, then starts for the door.] Yes... some recon is a good idea.
no subject
Yeah. Well, when I'm in need of money or gohgo--err, my older brother--needs some help. I tried quitting but... [ She paused, unsure of how to phrase it. ] I don't know. It's hard to explain. As for the people I kill, I'd like to think they're bad, since they cause issues for gohgo, but I know that's me trying to reason with myself. I'm still a killer, but, it's weird, because I've never considered myself a bad person.
[ While she couldn't specify exactly what Len had, she could guess it was some sort of firearm. She trailed behind him, leaving the coins on the stand. ]
I don't have my glasses with me, so, I'll trust you to lead.
no subject
Killing people doesn't make you a bad person, but I can't say I know enough to decide one way or another what you are. Thing is, it doesn't matter what I think. If you want to be a killer, if that's really who you are, then embrace it.
no subject
[ It was the same thing, but assassin sounded more organized than killer. As she followed him down the halls, she couldn't help but notice the home-y decor. ]
Is that why you're so comfortable calling yourself the bad guy?
no subject
[He shrugs] I accepted who I am a long time ago, round about when my father started taking me on jobs because my hands were smaller, so I was able to get in and rewire security systems more easily than he could.
no subject
But, did you want to continue doing it, or do think that you just got used to the life and didn't want to leave it?
no subject
no subject
[ The adrenaline rush from fighting was addictive, though, she rarely admitted aloud.
As they continued down the hallways, her hand grazed at the walls. ]
This place looks too welcoming to be anything dangerous.
no subject
no subject
[ Peering into another room, she squinted and realized it was similar to their room setup. ]
There doesn't seem to be anything else but bedrooms.

[ A pause. ]
Is a prison usually this nice?
