➸ OOC: Meet and Greet!

Welcome to [community profile] gameofmana! Thank you to everyone who is willing to participate in this tiny experimental game/musebox of mine. Starting from today, I'll be letting people app in for a week or so before I put up the starting IC log for the game. Feel free to spend that time getting to know each other or mentioning this to your friends. Until then: consider this post your OOC meet and greet for the other people in the game, if you haven't met each other already! Post below introducing yourself, the character(s) you're bringing in, if you have plans for anyone else, etc.

I hope you enjoy yourselves here!

Figured I'd get this in now.

Hey folks. I'm Badge. I'm bringing in Accord, a cheeky weapon-selling young girl whose side job is recording a world's history and is not at all a huge collective of androids tasked with trying to prevent events in some worlds from destroying others. She'll be running around, taking down stories and selling weapons with alternatively grim and silly tales behind them. Because that's what you DO with weapons in Drakengard, after all.

As a note, I'm getting her in here to get her at the start, but I'm actually disappearing for about two weeks starting August 7 for a research trip, since I'm a History Ph.D working on her dissertation. Thankfully, Accord isn't going to be so central that this should be an issue, I imagine, but just a heads up. Otherwise, feel free to contact me at [plurk.com profile] dragomorph if you wanna plan stuff; I'll probably still be checking that during my 2 weeks away.

Looking forward to annoying you all. :V

Hi Badge!! Good luck with your research! Mind if I ask what's your dissertation about?

It's still in the stupid early stages, but right now I'm looking at video games, gender, and masculine identities in gaming cultures, with a focus on the formative years up through the hearings of the 1990s. May change, though; early dissertations are like that.

That sounds like an awesome subject to research. I hope I'll be able to read it one day! I may ask you more about the PhD life, I've always debated whether or not to pursue one.
